History of the Bookroom

We have been operating since the early 1930's. Originally we were located in a room, now a small kitchen, under the stairwell in Gisborne Street. We have moved twice since then. For a long time we inhabited a slightly smaller room inside what is now the Curate's flat located on Gisborne Street. At the beginning of 1999 we moved back to leafy Gisborne Street into our present space. This is much larger, with six impressive windows facing St Patrick's Cathedral. Here we have been able to expand our stock and include a larger collection of Anglican, spirituality, Children's and second-hand books; cards; gifts and sanctuary supplies.
